Small but fine selection of children's films to stream

Small but mighty is the selection of children's films on cinefile. We have made sure that we mainly offer films that are not only fun for children, but also for the adults who may be watching, too. Our online library includes children's films such as "Minuscule" or "Commissioner Gordon & Buffy", which make them already suitable for the youngest audience, children under 6. And of course, animated films are well represented in our "Kids and animation" section, be it the latest Asterix fun "Le secret de la potion magique", the two adventures of the little bear "Paddington" or such a magical niche film as "Song of the Sea".

Finally, Bruno Bozzetto's short film compilation and classic "Allegro non troppo" or the phenomenal Vincent van Gogh biopic "Loving Vincent", which is consistently drawn in the painter's style, are intended for older children and adults.

And the Swiss films in the children's section? We can point to two films so far. On the one hand, there is Xavier Koller's live-action adaptation of the classic children's book "Schellen-Ursli", and on the other, the box-office hit of its time "Ma vie de courgette", nota bene one of the very rare full-length Swiss animated films.

Finally, two insider tips for streaming for young and old are "Hugo", Martin Scorsese's only children's film, and "Océans" by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, an almost wordless and all the more visually powerful voyage of discovery through the oceans and to their inhabitants.

Original and dubbed versions in streaming

Today, many children's films are only shown on the big screen in dubbed versions. Because we at cinefile always keep the large online audience in mind, we always offer original and dubbed versions as an option. So you always have the choice of adapting a children's film to its target audience or, in the case of slightly older and very older children, of trying it out with the original version and subtitles. If the experiment fails, you can change the language version on the fly at any time.
