Under the gaze of Abdallah, a schoolteacher silenced thirty years earlier, the city is about to burst into flames, as the pulse of life becomes the sound of a gathering revolt.
Klingt kompliziert? Ist es auch. Regisseur Nabil Ayouch («Much Loved») will schlicht zu viel. Statt sich auf ein, zwei Protagonisten zu konzentrieren, verzettelt er sich. Das ist schade, denn immer wieder blitzt bei einzelnen Erzählsträngen Potenzial für richtig gute Geschichten auf. So aber bleibt alles an der Oberfläche.
