Reims, France, 1969. Paul Coutard is a 30-year-old sports journalist for the daily newspaper Le Champenois. Charming, childish and a womanizer, he always does just as he pleases. Then his boss orders him to team up with Emmanuelle Bruno, his discreet and beautiful executive assistant, and plan the newspaper’s annual town fair. To spite his boss, Paul decides to organize an all-female football match - an unheard-of ideaat the time! With Emmanuelle’s help, the project develops in unexpected directions - as does their romance.
Der Film ist von Männern geschrieben und inszeniert, der Fokus der Handlung liegt ebenfalls auf einem Mann, die altbackenen Witze zementieren Gechlechterklischees: Feministisch ist an «Comme des garçons» erstaunlich wenig.
