Fabienne is terminally ill and hasn’t much time left. She is very open about her fate. Her biggest worry is what will happen to her two young daughters. Fabienne wants to find out how her friend Nathalie dealt with the deaths of her father and brother, which occurred when she was still a child - she wants to understand what her own children will soon be going through.
Oestreicher ist es gelungen, berührende Momente aus dem Drehmaterial herauszufiltern, die nicht bloss fürs Verständnis der eigenen Geschichte, sondern fürs Publikum interessant sind. Trotz seiner Tragik drückt der Film nicht permanent auf die Tränendrüse; vielmehr sendet er die Botschaft aus: «Lebt intensiv!»
