Fifty-year-old Halla is secretly waging a one-woman-war on the local aluminium industry, engaging in everything from petty vandalism to outright industrial sabotage. But then, she receives notice that her application to adopt a child has finally been accepted and there is a little girl waiting for her in Ukraine. As Halla prepares to abandon her role as saviour of the Highlands, she decides to carry out one final attack.
Regisseur Erlingsson vermischt mit der grandiosen Hauptdarstellerin Ernstes mit Absurdem. Die Geschichte ist geradliniger als im Erstling «Of Horses and Men». Immer im falschen Moment taucht zum Beispiel ein spanischer Tourist auf, und die Filmmusiker kommentieren das Geschehen im Bild. Trotzdem ist der Kampf der Frau jederzeit nachvollziehbar.
