Over-the-hill jazz musician Madison finds a video of footage of his own home on his doorstep. When another recording shows him and his beautiful wife Renée asleep, he calls the police. At a party, Madison meets a mysterious man - then alleges he brutally murdered his wife unawares. But suddenly it's not him on death row, but a blameless mechanic, who in turn gets caught up in a nasty story with a mobster's girlfriend who looks strikingly like Renée ...
