The mentally handicapped Stöffi (Saladin Dellers) lives with his mother Antonia (Regula Imboden) in Einsiedeln. When the mother suffers a stroke and is admitted to hospital, Stöffi threatens to be sent to a juvenile shelter. To save her son, the mother on her deathbed reveals a long-kept secret. Zeno - her childhood sweetheart and the owner of a local restaurant - is Stöffi's father. He is now to take care of him. But the two have yet to learn how to be father and son.
