Wanda's world is upside down: her daughter Nina has secretly converted to Islam, prays punctually and from now on wants to be called Fatima. As the mother of a liberal Viennese patchwork family, Wanda is horrified; after all, she has always been a firm opponent of religious fanaticism. But every attempt to bring Nina to her senses fails. When she meets Hanife, the mother of Nina's Muslim girlfriend, she finds an ally in her.
Der Islam gehört zu Österreich. Aber was tun, wenn die 16-jährige Tochter online zum Islam übertritt und plötzlich Kopftuch trägt? Und das in einem gutbürgerlich-atheistischen Haushalt? Verzweifeln und ein paar blöde Islam-Witze reißen. Bemüht handelt Eva Spreitzhofers schräge, etwas konstruierte Culture-Clash-Komödie vom Burkini bis zu Konvertier-Tutorials auf Youtube sämtliche gesellschaftliche Reizthemen ab. Und ist am Ende eigentlich doch nur eine durchschnittliche Coming-of-Age-Geschichte.
