Scarecrow
Jerry Schatzberg, USA, 1973o
Winner of the Palme d’or at the Festival de Cannes in 1973, Scarecrow had been somewhat forgotten until it was screened at the FIFF in 2014, when Jerry Schatzberg was a member of the Jury. We owe it to Bong Joon-ho to have rediscovered this masterpiece once again. This road movie full of setbacks tells the story of two extraordinary vagabonds: Max (Gene Hackman) and Lion (Al Pacino), who make each other’s acquaintance hitchhiking.
