The self-confident Texan Joe Buck is fed up with country life and travels to New York to make the ladies happy as a callboy. But with his naive cowboy outfit he is only smiled at and ripped off in the cold-hearted city. In this way he gets to know the crippled and terminally ill thug Rizzo. The two of them get together and fight for their daily survival. While Joe only ends up with guys, Rizzo dreams of the sunny beach in Miami. And they both know that the only way out of this misery is to flee from the dreary daily routine.
