Everyone seems to be completely connected today, but Rémy and Mélanie still feel alone in the big city of Paris. They live wall to wall, shop in the same neighbourhood shop and their paths cross again and again. But both are so busy with their lives that they don't notice each other until, without knowing it, they finally take the same direction.
Cédric Klapischs unterhaltsame Romanze funktioniert trotz Tinder und Co. nostalgisch analog: Die beiden Thirtysomethings Rémy und Mélanie wohnen eigentlich Wand an Wand, gehen beide zum Psychotherapeuten, fühlen sich einsam und kaufen im selben Laden ein. Trotzdem kennen sie sich nicht - und das ändert sich auch erst in den letzten Minuten des Films. Unterdessen begleitet man die beiden Großstadtneurotiker dabei, wie sie ihre Egos auf Vordermann bringen, damit es auch endlich mit der großen Liebe klappt.

Das ist ein feiner Film über den Alltag zweier Anfangdreissiger in einer Grossstadt, unaufgeregt und situationskomisch. Nebenrollen spielen Tinder, ein weisses Büsi, ein Tanzkurs. Und natürlich Paris. Cédric Klapisch (L’auberge espagnole) unterhält damit bestens. Der Schluss ist verschenkt, doch der nächste Paris-Besuch fest vorgenommen.

Et le film d’assumer sans complexe une forme de candeur et d’abstraction formelle (gros travail sur la profondeur de champ et l’ambiance sonore) qui rapproche ce récit à deux voix du conte urbain auquel Ana Girardot apporte sa délicatesse et François Civil, son humour décalé.
