Les indiens sont encore loin
Patricia Moraz, France, Switzerland, 1977o
A high school student lies dead in the snow. The film depicts the last days of her life, but without explaining the deadly end or directly blaming anyone. What was the seventeen-year-old girl unable to cope with, and to what extent are the milieu and climate responsible for her feeling marginalized? - This is a film from the happy short period in which the most distinguished directors of French-speaking Switzerland's cinema were able to afford French later world stars like Isabelle Huppert, Gérard Depardieu and Fanny Ardant. Patricia Moraz was also able to benefit from the fortunate fact that Isabelle Huppert sill looked like a teenager at 23 and knew how to play at that age without any problems thanks to her outstanding talent. A film of quiet gestures and feelings and a sensitive study of post-68 generation.
