In April 2001, the news of an alleged child slave ship shook the world. The ship was owned by the Nigerian soccer player Jonathan Akpoborie, then a striker for VfL Wolfsburg. Although he was never proven guilty, the club separated from the player overnight, Akpoborie's career was ruined. The film reconstructs the events and uses them as an opportunity to set out eight years later in search of the protagonists of the day. The encounters give rise to a German-African story about dreams, football and the commodity of man.
