In September 2011, writer Michel Houellebecq briefly disappeared off the face of the earth. Wild rumors began circulating on the Internet, with many people expressing relief that the controversial author was suddenly no longer around. This (fictional) film now reveals what really happened: Houellebecq was abducted and imprisoned in a shack out in the country. But the kidnappers failed to consider one thing: Who would even be willing to pay ransom for the author's release?
