A trio of Japanese scientists have invented the DC Mini, a machine for psychotherapeutic purposes that makes it possible to enter other people's dreams. When the device is stolen by a "dream terrorist," everyone becomes hyperactive: a detective who has been undergoing treatment with the machine himself, the inventor trio, the head of the hospital, and a mysterious young woman named Paprika. Meanwhile, the manipulated and merging dreams become more and more dangerous.
