Anastasia
Anatole Litvak, USA, 1956o
In 1928, an apparently homeless and confused woman is picked up in Paris by White Russian exiles. The clever ex-general Bounine believes her to be the Grand Duchess Anastasia, who survived the execution of the tsar's family in 1918 - or at least he wants to pass off the woman, who calls herself Anna and apparently suffers from amnesia, as Anastasia in order to obtain the Romanovs' fortune. The tsar's mother is to serve as the last instance for her authentication, and she will put her alleged granddaughter to a severe test.
