In 1982, between 1,000 and 3,000 civilians were murdered in the Lebanese Palestinian camps of Sabra and Shatila. The perpetrators were mainly from the ranks of the Forces Libanaises, a Christian militia allied with Israel. The film links the psychological dispositions of the perpetrators with their political environment and also approaches the phenomenon of collective violence through their narratives.
