In 1747 Jakob Schmidlin is publicly strangled and burned as a false preacher. With him, over a hundred women, men and children are condemned, most of them are banished from the Confederation for eternity. The movement was thus to be completely wiped out. What remained is not much more than a horror story. How could it have come to this?
