25 years after Jonas qui aura 25 ans en l'an 2000, Alain Tanner revives the title character of his most successful film. Jonas has become a filmmaker, living with Senegalese-born Lila in an old apartment in Geneva and pursuing his first documentary film projects. Over the course of six months, the couple gets to know a number of interesting people. The conversations Jonah has with these friends and strangers help him gain perspective on his life and the new millennium.
