La Promesse verte
Édouard Bergeon, Belgium, France, 2024o
Carole lives a quiet life in the west of France, teaching English, until the day everything falls apart. Her son Martin, who has left to study in Borneo, has just been arrested. Accused of drug trafficking and unjustly condemned to death, Martin is above all an embarrassing witness to the abuses committed by palm oil farmers. In an attempt to save her son, Carole embarks on an unequal battle against the operators responsible for deforestation and against the powerful industrial lobbies defending the economic and political interests of so-called "biofuels".
