In the summer of 1956, Johanna's father died. In his place, she takes on the task of documenting the family's life with the inherited Super 8 camera: Mother, sister and grandmother in their old Viennese apartment, where the talkative relatives meet regularly. The camera's gaze wanders seemingly amateurishly over faces smoking cigarettes. In erratic movements, grandmother's dumplings are captured in close-up, as are the unknown young women who gather in grandmother's kitchen from time to time. Ostensibly to cook.
