Mit Büchern wie Pick me Girls und jüngst Wie kann sie nur? ist die deutsche Autorin, Moderatorin und Podcasterin Sophie Passmann zu einer der prägenden feministischen Stimmen ihrer Generation geworden. Bis Ende 2024 war sie zudem regelmässig im Berliner Ensemble mit der Theaterfassung von Pick Me Girls zu sehen. Die nun fürs Kino aufgezeichnete Inszenierung ist mehr als Stand-up-Comedy: Mit scharfem Witz und Ehrlichkeit erzählt Passmann von Selbstverleugnung, dem Bedürfnis nach männlicher Anerkennung – und davon, wie sie selbst mittendrin steckte.
