Chicken Run

Hopelessly repressed and facing certain death at the British chicken farm where they are held, Rocky the American rooster and Ginger the chicken decide to rebel against the evil Mr. and Mrs. Tweedy, the farm's owners. Together, Rocky and Ginger lead their fellow chickens in a great escape from the murderous farmers and their farm of doom.
Chicken Run is always engaging, full of bright humor, marvelous stop-motion work with Plasticine figures, dramatic conflict and wonderfully nuanced characterizations. Latter attribute is particularly notable; as in the Wallace and Gromit shorts, it’s amazing how expressive of human emotions the filmmakers can make faces composed of such lifeless material.
