In a Swiss mental hospital, the director and his deputy get into an argument about the most appropriate methods of therapy. The next day, the director is found dead and Constable Studer is called to investigate. When hospital officials try to present a patient named Caplaun as the most plausible culprit, Studer becomes suspicious. – Adaptation of the novel by Friedrich Glauser.
