Love Me Tender
Klaudia Reynicke, Switzerland, 2019o
Seconda, 32 years old, is ready for anything to gain her freedom. Suffering from agoraphobia, she is incapable of leaving her home, but when she finally succeeds, she must face new challenges that push her limits even further.
Using abstraction in fictional narrative is no easy task, but Klaudia Reynicke pulls it off in this film which is at one and the same time a manifesto and a new starting point. Thanks to the remarkable physical performance of her female lead, the director has made a film about the rejection of any form of patriarchy, playing on male stereotypes and unmasking their fragility. Surprising and courageous, like the liberation of its protagonist.
