Nearing the end of a long and successful acting career, Miriam Goldschmidt finds her powers as an actress increasingly on the wane. She struggles to memorise her lines and as her last projects threaten to fall apart, Miriam looks back on her turbulent life replete with great public success and intense personal turmoil.
Goldschmidt war eine Schauspielerin von grosser Intensität. Auch im richtigen Leben war sie ausgesprochen theatralisch. Acht Jahre lang arbeiteten die Regisseure mit Brook und Goldschmidt. Man erlebt die Schauspielerin auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer Kunst, aber auch dabei, wie sie sich wegen ihres Alkoholismus keine Texte mehr merken kann. Besonders erhellend sind die Einblicke in die Arbeitsweise von Peter Brook.
