Die Pazifistin - Gertrud Woker: Eine vergessene Heldin
Matthias Affolter, Fabian Chiquet, Switzerland, 2021o
The Swiss chemist Gertrud Woker called for equal rights for women as early as the 1910s. She was a pioneer of the peace and women's movement and one of the first female professors in Europe. Through her research and criticism of the use of poisonous gases, the natural scientist soon came into conflict with the militaristically motivated elite. Nevertheless, she fought for peace and justice as well as against the misuse of science until her old age.
