The son of a judge loses control of his car while drunk and hopes for the support of his parents in order not to be sentenced. The mother of a young child, whose husband is often abroad on business, feels lonely and troubled by visions of a black bird. A young father of a family harbors terrible suspicions about an elderly neighbor. They all live in the same house in an affluent neighborhood in Rome. While the men are trapped in their stubbornness, the women try to mend their shattered lives.
Nanni Moretti, der liebenswerte Selbstironiker aus Filmen wie «Caro diario», als Prinzipienreiter? Ja, vieles ist dieses Mal anders: Erstmals hat der Regisseur und Schauspieler keinen eigenen Stoff verfilmt, Vorlage ist ein Roman des israelischen Autors Eshkol Nevo. Erstmals inszeniert Moretti nicht mit Zurückhaltung, sondern spielt die Gefühle wuchtig aus. Er erzählt nicht nur die Geschichte der Richterfamilie, sondern verwebt die Schicksale aller Menschen auf den drei Stockwerken – «Tre piani». Streckenweise erinnert das an eine TV-Seifenoper. Zum Glück blitzt zwischendurch Morettis lakonischer Humor doch noch auf.
Matthias LerfLe cynisme et la noirceur laissent place à une émotion, d’abord diffuse mais qui prend corps, accentuée par la présence d’un bébé ou d’un enfant (les seuls innocents ?). Tous les personnages vont se sentir perdus voire coupables, à un moment où un autre, dans ce labyrinthe tragique et mélodramatique.
