1.5 million Syrians have been forced to flee to Lebanon, where they find themselves in a hopeless situation. Their only hope for a lasting solution is to participate in a resettlement program and be accepted into one of twenty Western countries. Two Syrian families who left Syria in 2012 and have since gone through a real obstacle course are now, five years later, about to leave for Germany. But before they can take the final step, fate intervenes.
