The ingenious invention of scientist Seth Brundle could fundamentally change the nature of transportation. Matter is disassembled into its components, "beamed" to any location and reassembled. However, the first self-experiment has disastrous side effects. During the teleportation a housefly gets lost in his apparatus, whereupon body atoms of humans and insects mix with each other. Inevitably, Seth Brundle begins to transform into a 180-pound insect. But that's just the beginning of the nightmare.
