The End of Meat

For most people, meat is an indispensible part of their daily diet. But recent scandals about "tainted meat" and ethical concerns about the treatment of animals have led to a public debate about the morality of meat consumption and have increased the popularity of meat-free diets. Large meat companies started producing vegetable-based meat substitutes, vegan supermarkets began popping about everywhere and vegan products were sought out like never before. Could this be the beginning of the end of meat? Is the relationship between humans and animals about to experience a fundamental shift?
