Eugen is in his late thirties and indulges in a carefree bohemian existence in Prague, his father's hometown. He lives for the music club he built - until a fatal fire breaks out there. He is forced to return to Switzerland to raise the money for the renovation. Upon his return, he is confronted with his family, first and foremost with the life lie of his Czechoslovakian father Václav and his rich aunt, who prefers to spend her inheritance on orphan cats.
