Luise grew up with her grandmother Selma in a remote village in the Westerwald. She has a special gift: whenever an okapi appears to her in a dream, someone in the village dies the next day. However, it is unclear who it will be. The whole village gets ready: final preparations are made, secrets are revealed, confessions are made, love is declared. When the event arrives, it throws Luise's life over the edge. Ten years later, Luise works in a small bookstore and receives an unexpected visitor who once again gives her life a new direction.
