With a mix of genres such as fiction, documentary, docu-fiction, animation, and experimental cinema, "From Ground Zero" showcases a rich tapestry of stories that reflect the sorrow, joy, and hope inherent in Gazan life.

Retired Georgian teacher Lia wants to find out what has become of her missing niece Tekla. Achi, a teeanger from Tekla's former neighborhood, claims that Tekla has gone off to the more liberal Istanbul as a trans woman and immediately follows Lia's heels when she sets off. Together, the two rummage through the Turkish metropolis' vibrant neighborhoods, where transsexuals and other outsiders hire themselves out. The inn’s owner suspects that the two might be looking for treasure and decides to follow them on his motorcycle…
